Diverse is the expressiveness in the paintings, collages and sculptures of the artist Daniela Gauch (1964) from Central Switzerland (Greppen).
Since early childhood the artist had the strong desire to express her emotions and feelings by painting and drawing. Her longer study trips – among other destinations to India – left emotional impacts, which she implements with passion into her artworks.
The artistic creation finds itself in her characteristic style. The artist combines realistic figures with abstract painting and collages which build a symbiosis. She succeeds to give the works an exiting depth and impressive expressiveness. With preferences she uses colors with terrestrial reference. The artist loves to paint in acryl but also enjoys working with clay and experiments with the glaze firing. She integrates finds from bulky waste or from nature: a lock becomes a base of a sculpture, shards of a bauble can be seen on a handle of a clay or terracota pot.
