Otto Baumberger’s 1923 “coat poster” for the PKZ clothing company is an icon among Swiss object posters. The striking, photo-realistic image of the PKZ tweed coat makes the fabric seem tangible. Baumberger’s decision to leave out any advertising text but integrate the PKZ label into the image was groundbreaking.
The poster was immediately celebrated as a sensation.
